Sometimes it’s about the pictures you take rather than obsessing over the optical quality of lenses. This lens would be great for street photography, especially stopped down.

I recenlty just bought a TTartisian 50 f/1.2 and wow, that lens is awesome. It's full metal, glass elements are very clean and all my photos have turned out very sharp and the lens costed me $105

I purchased this lens a couple of weeks back, and I'm loving the pictures coming out of it. There's a hint of swirl to the optical design output, love it ❤️

I actually love the cats eye on this, and the swirl I've seen in the reviews and samples convinced me to order one.

To that end, I'm now obsessed with the idea of someone, perhaps TTArtisan, leaning into vintage character with autofocus lenses. If they did a 40mm f/2 lens with a Biotar design, trying to capture that Zeiss Jena/Helios 44 swirl, that'd be amazing. They almost surely can't keep up with Fuji in a technical sense, so making flawed but fascinating and unique lenses, combining vintage character with modern controls and autofocus, would be a sweet niche.

The 40mm FF equivalent is my favorite 'one lens' option. If TTArtisans had really wanted to do something special they'd had made this with a bigger aperture like they've done with many other lenses.

The square hood link isn't working...could you update that for us please?

This lens has a really bad flaring issue, does the square hood helps? Because apparently the hood that comes with it doesn't do anything.

Nice review.. The Fuji 18 f2 (on an X-E3) is my most used walk around/street combo.. but that can be too wide for my tastes sometimes.. which leaves me with the 18-55 or Viltrox 33.. which are a little big for what I want to walk around with.. This seems like an interesting option, I mean $150 is really nothing for a new photography toy

If they make an equivalent 18/19mm i'd be interested, fuji has a big gap there for street photography imo

The question of all questions, does it sound like the fuji 27mm like a printer from the 90s? :D

The square hood link you have goes to the one for the fuji 27mm, does it fit the TTArtisan aswell does it?

Thanks for the video! Does the lens hood help more against the flaring than the original hood?

Where did you purchase the square lens hood for the TTARTISAN 27mm lens?

Got this lens last week just for the reasons you mentioned. Like the lens hood shown. Funny it is half the price of the lens.

If you are going for the whole analog experience a flawed lens like this is pretty much adding to the experience as old lenses really aren't that good compared to modern glass.
