Well I bought FTL (thanks Burnie), Game Dev Tycoon, World of Goo, Papers Please (thanks Gus), Plants Vs Zombies, Gone Home, DLC Quest, Rogue Legacy and Terraria. Now im broke but I don't care because now I have a bunch of cool games to play. I was actually late for work because I so immersed in FTL, its such a fun game. I can't wait for the next Steam Summer sale.

Steam summer sale was disappointing but than I realized, I own a lot of the games on sale.  Guess my back catalog is finally filled.

I hardly picked up anything, most games I already own or my outdated laptop can't run :(

I picked up Game Dev Tycoon. I love this type of game and I wouldn't even have know about it if it weren't for Burnie, thanks man.

I didn't buy much this time around, but the games I did buy were those that I wouldn't have considered if they weren't on sale. These were XCOM:EU, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Payday 2, Castle Crashers, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Brothers: A tale of two sons and Final Fantasy VIII.

I also bought gift copies of Garry's Mod and CSS, as well as another copy of XCOM and Monaco.

My point is that these sales encourage users to buy simply because they can, which in all honestly can only benefit the developer.

I purchased State of Decay, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (which I've already put over 20 hours into), Left 4 Dead 2 (finally) and 7 Days to Die.
Loving KoA so far and really excited to play 7 Days to Die with my two best friends who also bought it! :D

Super Meat Boy and Game Dev Tycoon were my two favorites this year, but there were definitely a few others I've picked up and haven't gotten to yet.

Last summer sale, I bought around 30 games and have hardly touched them since. This time around I was much more cautionary and picked up 3 I knew I would play.

That's the cool thing about digital distribution, there's next to no overhead for selling a product once it's been developed, so companies can price it... well... whatever they want!

Was low on money so I didn't really have much to spend, but I did get Papers, Please. The video with Adam, Joel, and Gus got me interested in it. I didn't think I would like it, or that it just wouldn't be fun cause it isn't my type of game. I like it, and I do play it, just still not really for me. And I can see why others would like it though :)

I think regardless of the smaller profit per game in the Steam sales, it'd probably be worth it overall to get more people playing the game due to the low prices. If there are more people who own the game, there's more people to recommend the game, which means more games sold, even after the Steam sales end.
