All depends on price, which Intel is still going to lose unless they change their pricing all together.

We don't actually want a competitive market in 2019. We want AMD to destroy Intel for a year or two so that they can actually gain market share and mind share. THEN we want a competitive environment. If Intel can stay even within 10% of AMD's performance, there is a strong possibility that AMD won't make enough headway to keep investing in R&D and remain solvent in the long term. So no, we very much do NOT want a competitive 2019 between AMD and Intel.

Good news for the tech industry, but based on Intel's past I think my money will still go to AMD and their Ryzen/Radeon lineup for my next build. Good to see competition but personally I think AMD, with all the progress they've made in both CPU and GPU, deserves our support this generation far more than Intel does. AMD really shook things up as the underdog and I appreciate that far more than I appreciate Intel finally giving us what we want ONLY because AMD is forcing it's hand.

I think it will still be an AMD year. Intel is still having Fab problems and will likely focus on the very high end to compensate for that, not to mention they will likely still overprice because Intel fanboys would sell their house just to buy the top of the line.
