Moving to NYC? Here’s how to find the BEST neighborhood for you!!

The first thing to consider if you’re moving to New York City is price. The general rule of thumb is that your annual income should be 40x your monthly rent, so if you can afford Manhattan, great! If not, check out some places in Brooklyn or Queens further from the city.
The second thing to think about is the vibe you’re looking for. Manhattan has a fast-paced, always on-the-go vibe that has branded itself as the city that never sleeps. Brooklyn on the other hand has a more laid-back, chill environment. What to look for in a neighborhood all depends on your personality and what you like in your home environment.
The last thing to consider- use resources like Zillow or StreetEasy, as well as local real estate agents who could help you out. If you’re in the city already or are nearby, rent a citibike and explore the streets in a neighborhood you like! You might just come upon a For Rent sign with your name on it.
