Part 1 (Interview)
What do candidates have to do? Respond to questions, giving factual or personal information.

How long do candidates have to speak? 3–4 minutes.

Part 2 (Discussion)
What do candidates have to do? Candidates discuss likes and dislikes, and give reasons.

How long do candidates have to speak? 5–6 minutes.

Cambridge English speaking tests take place with one or two other candidates, and two examiners. This makes your test more realistic and more reliable.

as an eng learner, when the teacher asks the question, i pause the video and try to answer and that's really nice to do!! see these students doing this test inspires me, each one has your own process and time. Fayza and Sthefhany, you two were so brave, keep going <3

Im a native speaker. I imagine answering these questions and sometimes I never know what to say to answer. I think that native speakers rarely ask each other questions like they're learning english, if they do, native speakers would usually answer with short answers. They'll just reply "cos I enjoy it". They won't go into detail for why it motivates them.

Fayza answered all the questions in short but that was all right. Stephany wanted to say a lot but just hadn't got enough words.

I love how fayza assisting her partner she sounds friendly and sympathetic with her she knows what she is going through this gives more confidence and more self motivation when practice speaking among others things ❤ 💖

Sthephany is me in my 1st year at college. I can tell how she struggles a lot with English but she still tries to make herself understood, It happened to me several times because I speak Spanish too (still, sometimes)

Sthefhany is so brave that she still tried! I'm glad they gave her barely a grade C, I hope the rest of her exam didn't go bad and that she passed the overall exam with atleast a grade C, even though she evidently got to work on this language. by the way she's so adorable!

It's apparent that Fayza was learning a language with exposure to a lot of grammar rules and that's why her speech is coherent, she constructs sentences easily. Stephany, on the other hand, seems to have picked up 'this and that' from natural speech that's why her speech is fragmentary. It shows again that you can not learn a foreign language without grammar.

We have to give credit to both of these candidates - it’s a very intimidating experience. They both get better as the exam progresses and overcome their nerves. Hopefully they’ve moved on to the PET exam now.

I'm taking the exam in April, and the teacher that learns me English and prepares me for the exam is really kind. I'm from Romania and i love learning English, i was self-thaught but now i properly learn it. For everyone who is taking an exam soon - you can make it! <3

Omg, teacher is so nice. She supports for 2 ladies such as some suggestions.... exam isn't so difficult. They should practice more.
