The Toyota Supra gets a lot of flack for being comprised of largely BMW parts, but those casting stones have missed the point. After spending the week with the Supra we feel in love with the looks, power delivery, sound, and dynamics. Which has us wondering if it out BMWed BMW. Yes, it would have made more sense to compare to the m240i, but sometimes you have to make do with what you can get your hands on. So the question then is, “is the M440i what you get when the Supra grows up and gets a job?”

Do a drag race and see ....the rebranded bmw cant ever beat a real bmw ....dont go by numbers, m440i would leave supra in the rear view mirror

Just being big doesn't necessarily imply sloppy handling if the chassis and suspension are up to the task. The problem with the G22 is that its track width and wheelbase increase didn't keep up with the increase in weight, so weight transfer is going to be a bigger problem now than in the previous generation. In addition, the G22 has a more forward-biased weight distribution than the F32 and BMW made the frankly insane decision to keep the front tyres at 225mm, so I wouldn't be surprised if the M440i understeers more than the F32 440i.

I love the comparison here... but the one that I'm looking forward to is the Z vs. Supra! One of those two will be my track/mountain car

You didn't test it in a drag race... I am sure you will change your mind about the 0 - 60 performance. BMW is faster. :)

The wind buffeting is annoying but the aftermarket solved it with some inexpensive mods. Kinda frustrating on a $50K car but nothing is perfect. The other simple fix is the head unit and bass. The factory EQ settings are terrible. With some adjustments and a DIY fix to the subs (you add two ports and some foam) the stock system went from a 4/10 for me to a 7/10 and liveable.

The nice thing about the GR Supra is there is tons of aftermarket support.

I agree on the M440 looks at the back end. It’s too rounded and big. You should do a M340 vs M440 review. I own a 2021 M340 and test drove the M440. Honestly, I could not tell much of a difference.

I've considered it but not a fan of that Supra styling. And I just ordered an M440i which will be here in 6 weeks. I'll take the BMW over the Toyota any day including Sundays and

i dont think people appreciate the supra enough because back when it was still being rumored they said it could have been a hybrid. now complain its a bmw or a modified prius?

On 440i my right ear was lonely and for the supra it was my left one. You guys teasing my ears too much.

Bro the 2020 Supra always had 385 hp. Go in line and check out a lot of the dyno tests.
