E INK Gallery 3 Color E-paper has massive new upgrades

E INK has a new Gallery 3 that has received significant upgrades in 2024. There is a new controller chip, rendering engine, and improved handwriting experience. This has reduced the speed from 300 milliseconds on the old system to 100 milliseconds or less.

Glad the astomonical $100 million dollar investment for gallery 3 is finally bearing fruit!

The remarkable pro's fast response (a little cheating since its b/w with a color delay but it works great) and partial refresh technique is really convincing.

Thank you for the update Michael. No issue with saying Gallery 3 was "dead", you certainly weren't the only ones to think so. A stunning achievement by reMarkable and their partners. Still, I think the double refresh, for want of a better term, will be a hard sell to anyone coming from the LCD world and not used to e-ink. Yes Gallery 3 has more vivid colours than Kaleido 3, but it's still a long way behind Amoled etcetera. And it seems that the Paper Pro doesn't have a true black, but only a dark blue. If however, you aren't after colour accuracy, Kaleido 3 with a strong front-light is acceptable to me.

They remarkable pro is very expensive and very limited use. Its not android or windows based so not very versatile, no reading apps, no web browser. And if it comes to Kindle will be 2X as expensive, so wont go anywhere in a hurry till gallery 3 drops in price
