I like the firmer midsole of the Magic Speed for stability purposes. Also a half plate for me is better since I am a midfoot to forefoot. The Guidesole tech is awesome.

Strange that you said the magic speed has a wide toe box because other reviewers have said the exact opposite. It's too narrow and requires breaking in

I'm going to pick up the Magic Speed, but I've been getting mixed opinions on width of the shoe. Some say it's too narrow and others say it's too wide. Gonna need more opinions I guess.

Interesting. Just watched Fordy's review of his worst shoe of the year. His pick, the Asics Magic Speed, it just didn't work for him. Seth DeMoor listed the Magic Speed as the best Tempo/Firm shoe. The Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 got the nod for Tempo/Energy Return. I picked up the E Speed 1 on clearance for $120 and it is my favorite purchase this year out of 8 purchases! I am planning to run my 1st marathon in the E Speed 1. Wish me luck guys.
