You are correct about them being able to handle modern roads and highways . I ride my 1949l EL on the highway all the time. No problem keeping up or passing cars. It doesn't stop as quickly as my other bikes as I'm still running the stock drum brakes. But it goes fast enough all day long.

A literal dream bike. Always did want a Knuckle. That and a '57 Bel Air are the dream garage. Simple, and very attainable.

I put THAT exact “ old school “
pogo - style seat set up on an old 72’ FLH .
To this day, 13 HD’s later - not one other machine has the comfort that he described in this very well done and well worded video !
Great job, young man !

Glad to see someone else who appreciates the "original" 6 volt system. Won't ever convert my two older bikes. It was good enough back in the day....

even without the dampeners those springers handle really well

Hey Dale we need more videos of you riding. It’s so satisfying watching a living legend riding his own builds. Not to mention the machines are just flawless.

Just visited this place and it was great. The staff interacts with the guests and answered questions and they know their stuff.

At this point it is almost useless to complement you the beautiful bike. All of the bikes in the museum are beautiful in their own way. Whether it is their beautiful history, ingenuity, ergonomics, are all beautiful and incredible machines. I love this channel!!

The knucklehead is my favorite Harley engine, 2nd is the WL series. The raffle bike is a beauty but I don't care for the bobbed fenders, on a wet road you'd get road spray in your face and on your back.

It's great you men are preserving history and you do a fine job of it
Many years ago when I was riding way 62 FLH daily we referred to the brakes as H.D. coaster brakes same for my 47 chief that a young man turned into expensive scrap when he left turned me. I'm a lifelong rider loved motorsickles my entire life but in today's distracted traffic my 6 piston Brembo's save my life almost everytime I ride .
