Such an eloquent explanation for such a simple principle that so many people misunderstand (pop media)

I had never thought that photons could change the position of other particles nor had I heard anyone explain this. Wow, thanks Dr Tyson

"And I ask the question: Where is Joe Rogan the atom?" anyone else visualize a tiny joe in a room?

Most physicists actually think he's wrong. They point to the fact that viewing the actual position doesn't change it the fact is that the measurement comes from the Heisenberg uncertainties principles mathematical formulas. It's a general rule in quantum mechanics and has nothing to do with the actual process of envisioning where the position is.

What I never got about this is, doesn’t the photon “bounce back” to me and so carry the info about where you were, even if you’re no longer there? So at least I know that - exactly where you “were”, if not “are”?

It's deeper than that Neil, isn't attached to you at all, at that scale

So does this play a part with the double slit experiment?

It’s called matter. Because it doesn’t matter if it’s really small. At least not for measurements. Also Joe Rogan is not an atom. He is millions of atoms

He went from this to not knowing what men and women are.
