Hehehe I’ve been doing this and now we have like 7 squirrels who come by everyday for snacks, crows too! And a couple chipmunks! Though the chipmunk is the only one who accepts being picked up and pet so far lolll, I did pet a squirrels head, I love my babies

I’ve been feeding Black Oil Sunflower 🌻 for years & I think you’re Right. There are 2 of the maybe 15, squirrels who are cocky. One even went nose-to-nose w my Collie 🐶. Bottom line? I’m gonna give your method a shot. Thanks 😊
