You are a life saver, thank you for explaining the exposure. This whole time I was underexposing and always wound up with noisy footage because I would up the exposure in post. Because of that I always went back to CINE2 and CINE4. Now I can shoot in SLOG confidently. ☺

I always shoot at 800 or 3200 on my A7IV. At 3200 it is a bit noisy but good ol Noise Reduction in Davinci Resolve can take care of that. It does seem like Neat Video does a better job at removing the noise. Thank you for the tips and value.

Oh yes going from 4k to HD especially on the FX3 is amazing quality for brining down noise. The downsampled noise from a 35 MM sensor although small was quite noticeable when I was needing to project on a large screen theatre. That's where you will see it. For the web it may not be an issue but for cinema large screen yes. I know this for a fact. I had to use NEAT on all my shots shot in low light from an a7 iv with S Log or without.

Thanks for making this a concise video great stuff! I haven't looked yet I just got my FX30. But I guess there is a way to turn up or down noise reduction in some cameras. I'm curious what your thoughts are on that and wondering why you didn't really go there in this video outside of I think barely mentioning it at the end. Looking forward to checking out more of your stuff though.
