for anyone wondering why these steps are not working

1) you first need to install asterisk 11 or 13 (non LTS version) - for the SIP show peers and other commands to work
2) before the compiling stage, you also need to install the following :, apt-get install build-essential wget libssl-dev libncurses5-dev libnewt-dev libxml2-dev linux-headers-$(uname -r) libsqlite3-dev uuid-dev libjansson-dev
3) once the compiling tools are installed, asterisk needs to be configured using libjansson

Thanks guys, the only tutorial I've found on related topics that is actually helpful. As we don't need DAHDI for working with sip only, let's say I have an Opensips proxy as SBC and a couple of asterisk instances behind it which are connected to sip phones only, do I need libpri?

Hey guys, I'm a student setting up a VoIP system using AsteriskNOW and i just can't seem to find the System Requirements for it. Any idea what the average system requirements are to run 2 concurrent calls (4 soft phones)? Thanks!

i'm facing this problem after i use make sample cmd after that is use asterisk -cvvv then show this
asterisk: error while loading shared libraries: libjansson.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
please help me out in this

Hello, I have a question...
When I go into the Asterisk console and type "sip show peers" it returns "no such command 'sip show peers'. I looked into it and this could happen when some module is not installed, but I followed every step and even started a fresh installation of the server, and still got the same error message.

I'd appreciate your help!

Hi guys, I'm stuck on the make menuconfig/menuselect. I'm always getting the message Terminal must be at least 80 x 27. I'm using asterisk 11-23.0 on Debian 8 (Jessie) 32 bit running on Oracle VirtualBox. Thanks!

i have installed it on latest version of pfsense .. can i follow along with this tutorial ? when i ssh to pfsense and try asterisk -cvvv it gave me error to

i was logged in as root.

thought i tried aterisk -r and was able to get to cli but above couldnt find mentioned directory to get it to make sample files

ok i am downloading ubutnu 14.04 lts server 64 bit edition and will try to follow along ..

i will do it in vmware workstation .. does it requries multiple NIC ?

Mmhmm.. ok.. uh huh.. yeah.. mmhm.. it's such a shame, there's so much information in these videos so far but I find it so hard to concentrate when every sentence is constantly interrupted by this quite loud UH HUH.. MMHMM
