Over-The-Top Strawberry Shortcake
Ingredients:
* 1 box Angel food cake mix
* 1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple (in its own juice)
* 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
* 1 (15 oz) tub sliced strawberries in sugar (Walmart brand recommended)
* 1 (16 oz) tub Cool Whip
* Fresh strawberries (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a mixing bowl, stir together the Angel food cake mix and crushed pineapple (including the juice).
3. Pour the batter into an ungreased 9x13 pan.
4. Bake for 33-35 minutes, until golden brown.
5. Let the cake cool completely.
6. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
7. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top.
8. Spread the sliced strawberries in sugar over the cake.
9. Top with a thick layer of Cool Whip.
10. Garnish with fresh strawberries, if desired.
11. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving (overnight is even better).
Storage: Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Enjoy!

A toothpick or fork will give smaller holes in the cake, and yes the milk will sink in! We did the poke cakes too.

Diabetics nightmare. Id use fresh strawberry slices all throughout. half condensed milk with fat free coconut milk.

So do you put the other ingredients for the angel food cake?Of course i've never made angel food cake but i'm thinking it's like making or baking a regular cake with eggs and oil and stuff
