My daughter is in her first year working as a Nurse in Kingston Hospital, after working for weeks in A&E looking after patients with covid 19, she contracted it-was tested positive for covid-19 last 19/04- the hospital she works for won’t even admit her...the hospital she works for can’t even look well after their own staff!!! WE ARE FILIPINOS...

IT IS GOOD THAT THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE FILIPINO NURSES IN THIS COVID PANDEMIC SITUATION. HOWEVER, what nurses really need here in UK is the PPE. Alot of nurses here dont have a proper PPE!

Please speak up for the healthcare workers. PROVIDE THEM WITH PROPER PPEs Please! Filipino health workers have a tendency to give too much and are hesitant on demanding for their ppes and their rights especially when they are afraid of getting pushed out from work or the host country.

Imagine just how much paperwork you need to accomplish to enter the UK legally and the English competency needed, then when you get there. You find a Bangali who barely speaks English and works in your curry shop who came not 2 days before with barely a passport and a complete set of teeth.

A disproportionate number of foreign health workers including those from the Philippines are dying of covid 19 in the UK. Why is that?

Thank you Piers- this is a better recognition for us nurses here in UK. I worry about the constant cover by BBC & ITV using and abusing the names of my dead colleagues and not respecting their friends and families who has to relive their death each time their names/pictures are used by some on TV, Twitter and so on- makes you wonder if they really care about them or just using their names to further their platforms!
