@imamagedude As far as I can tell, that was a plugin that simulates the old behavior of the piston mod, in which pistons would throw carts/players/sand/gravel up into the air.

wow dude, that's amazing. The whole time I thought that he created the scenery first with an idea of what he wanted to happen in mind, and then you created the system based on that, while modifying slight things in order to fit it. I never would have imagined that he actually built the scenery based off of the system. That's some impressive work by Pwegoable (not that your minetrack system isn't great as well).

You could probably change the textures for the detector rails to invisible, along with a block to put under it. It should give the illusion that you are FLYING... as long as everybody uses the custom texture pack.

add a sticky piston next to a block to push it onto another powered rail!
