When you think of retro motorcycles, the Kawasaki Z900RS probably isn't the first bike that springs to mind. But our man Paul Taylor believes it's the most authentic modern retro out there today.

I love my Z900RS Candytone Green, 2020 model. Absolutely awesome.

It's the bike that brought me back to riding after 30 years away (GSX110E, GPZ900A2). It spoke to me as soon as it was launched, and just 2 weeks ago it became a reality. I'm still pinching myself!

Such a beautiful machine. I'm 27 years old, but I rather get one of these out of everything else "modern looking" in the market. Nice vid!

55 year old Ducati Monster 796 owner for about 7 years now. Lot's of fun. No regrets except for scheduled maintenance costs every 7500 miles. I am buying this Z900RS...in this color.

In 70's I thought that Z900 is the most beautiful bike in the world. I liked Honda CB750 as well but Z900 had (and still has) that streamlined design notch or two nicer. If Z900RS have 4 exhausts as original model had I would also take it.
I am 64 and would like to buy it, but it is out of reach financially. Maybe ... one can always hope

Had a 2019 Z900RS... sold it, still regret is... so much that I'm selling my current (3 months old) motorcycle (Harley Low Rider S) and going to buy this one again.

I remember seeing this bike at the NEC show 2017 or 2018, and I fell in love immediately.

I am 36 years old and I am a proud owner of a 2022 model in Metallic Dark Green. I switched from a supersport bike, Ninja zx636a. The Z900RS is just perfect for me. It is just as sporty but can also be ridden very comfortably. I tried out many bikes before making the purchase, such as the T120, Thruxton R, MT9, MT10, RnineT, and Harley, but none of them excited me as much as the Z900RS, both visually and technically.

I absolutely love it, looking to do a bit of upgrades through Brock's performance. ECU and exhaust.

Had a modified Z1 back in the day. It was stupid fast but the tires were awful, braking was theoretical, the handling was down right scary. Haven't had a bike since, this makes me want to ride again. Just have to figure out what I'm going to tell the grand kids when they see me on the back wheel.

At 61 the original was in my riding era, back then I did not feel the need for such a big bike and loved my time on an R65, this today is the best looking bike out there I love it, although does anyone riding solo need 100 bhp? on the roads. Would love to have this bike though if I was riding still

Hello. I like the bike but what I miss in modern bikes is the exhaust sound, very quiet in most of them, and for my it is a very important part of riding pleasure. I shall continue with my black 2005 Suzuki Bandit 650 with a carbon Leo Vince exhaust that always puts a big smile on my face when I finish a ride weekend day course the original exhaust is very quiet too but here in Spain is very difficult to customize a bike because of laws, but the one I changed the original is "still" allowed. Nice review of that

I been driving bikes for over 50 years and I can say the z900 rs is one of the best all around bikes. Harleys pick up chicks but have poor traction in the rain. Every Honda I drove broke down every Kawasaki I drove never broke down no matter how fast I drove it
I started driving in 1970 and have seen it all almost for u new guys drive smart and safe I went thru a few dogs and a friend of mine hit a deer so if u in remote areas in the mountains or country beep your horn often to spook any deer that may jump out of no where and surprise u in a half a secondand check your chain often I have seen new guys chain so loose it could jump off the sprokets and lock up your wheel I use 90 weight gear oil on mine never use greese it will not pentrate the rollers on chain
