HTML5: Lesson 1 - Absolute Basics

This is lesson 1 on HTML5, it discusses the basics of HTML. We will be learning about what HTML is and how your browser interacts with it. Also, we will be writing our first webpage.

No, websites are hosted by servers around the world. However, some big websites have their own dedicated servers.
The server sends data to the browser, and it classifies which data, by reading the IP that is masked with DNS. DNS is a software that came out in 1984, to mask IP addresses as domain names(youtube.com, google.com, etc).

Well since the World Wide Web started, the language HTML was created. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is responsible for improving it. This group is made up of the top corporations (Microsoft, Google, Apple, etc..., ). They have updated HTML many times, the latest version is HTML5 and it will be for a long time. HTML5 has so many new features that you can code your own games in pure HTML. It's pretty sweet!

Nope, that stuff in the address bar is the link to the file on your computer. It is client-sided/offline so only people on your computer can see it.
