How to Can Squash for Frying

It is possible to can squash for frying! In this video, I show you how to can it and also how to fry it! It turns out crispy and tastes fresh out of the garden! This is an old-time way of canning it.

The brine is:
9 cups water, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup vinegar. Bring to a boil to melt the sugar.
Fill jars with squash, salt (1/2 t. pint, 1 t. quart), and cover with hot brine. Water bath can for 10 minutes pints and 15 minutes quarts.
Depending on how many you are making, you may have to double the brine.

To store the rings I’ve seen people put them on a bungee cord then hang them somewhere, it seems to be the method that takes up the least amount of space 😁 Enjoyed the video! Always love some good ole fried squash 😊
