This is a review of Daivd Kopec's excellent book 'Classic Computer Science Problems in Python'. If you're a self taught, intermediate python programmer take a look. I think you'll like it.

Manning Publications has been a very consistent, high quality publisher of CS related material. They're in my top 3 list of go-to publishers for computer science related content.

This book is great. I learned about it after watching one of the author’s YouTube videos. Thanks for recommending this book as I borrowed it from a library and had to return it before working my way through it. Now you have reminded me I need to purchase a copy to finish. I think it’s a book worth keeping as I found myself working through a chapter and then going back later to see what I remembered and refresh my memory by rereading sections and reworking examples.

My path with learning python until now has been:
- Python crash course by Eric Matthes (probably I would have chosen Automate the boring stuff, today)
- Tiny Python Projects (Manning publ.)
- The Quick Python Book (Manning) which I'm doing at the moment.

After the last one, my idea was to go for the Classic CS Problems (the author of the book recommends the quick python book for the prerequisites)

Hope this is useful for someone, I feel like recommending those books in that order :)

In my experience, self-taught is the same as book-learned. Great review, Giles! I will check that out. 🤓

Could you please recommend 1 book or maybe 2 must read books in order to learn python. Please either make a video or provide links please. I know the basics like variables data types functions and loops. Thank you! Love your work and much appreciate your efforts! in short you are awesome :)

After finishing the Python Crash Course book by Eric Matthes (which I am half-way through and which I found pretty good one till now), one might be in a position to work their way through this book hopefully..

You should consider using manual focus, otherwise it creates a constant shift everytime you move your head forward, blurs and sharpens the background, which is very visualy unpleasant and quite hard for our brains to process.

I was wondering if you could recommend a book that does specifically discuss data structures and algorithms in Python?

Thank you.

So, how does it compares to Grokking Algorithms? BTW, I have this book, love it, but I have not read Grokking Algorithms.
