I read an interview with Stephen King who saw The Exorcist in the theater with his wife. During the head turning scene, a woman stood up, screamed something in Spanish and fled the theater. King leaned towards his wife and said, "This movie is going to be huge."

When I worked as a projectionist at the local cinema, every weekend I would see people walk out half way through Sex and the City 2.

When I saw Dogma in the theater, there were maybe 20 people there. By about 15 minutes into the film, there were about 10 people, and after 30 minutes, my friend and myself were the only ones left. Totally one of my favorite movies.

How can a list be complete without including The Human Centipede?

I saw Caligula when it came out. We stood in line at the theatre reading warnings every four feet or so of what we were about to see. After the movie, the majority of movie goers complained that certain scenes depicted exactly what they were warned would be in the film. People still go to shows and are offended even if they know exactly what they are going to see.

My grandfather walked out on Saving Private Ryan. He landed at Sword. 101 years old now. That day was the 1st time I'd seen any emotions from him.

Saving Private Ryan Is and always will be one of the greatest cinematic experiences ever in theatres. Veterans walking out from PTSD means it was done right

When the extended edition of, The Exorcist, came out in theaters, I was dragged in by a friend who didn't want to see it alone. I couldn't sleep for three days. I kept calling my friend at 3 am because if I couldn't sleep, neither were they!

Scariest movie I've ever seen and will never watch it again.

Even a lot of kids walked out of “Transformers the Movie” because they were crying over Optimus Prime’s death.

you go to a Von Trier, Waters or Cronenberg movie and can't handle it? You did that to yourself, tbh, lmao

No other film in existence can change the morality of a person like a Serbian Film

When I went to see "Hereditary" there was an elderly couple in front of me. There's a very disturbing scene in the movie that is very shocking and sets the tone for the rest of the movie. Well, needless to say, the couple walked out. I'd never seen anyone leave a movie before, but considering what they just witnessed, I get it.
