My main! I'd argue the Cryo is the best weapon for two types of Drillers; the melee specialist and the supporter. If you don't mind having the lowest kill count at the end of the mission and want to help your teammates burst down almost anything in a 1-2 punch, this is for you.

I actually only played driller cause of the cryo, freeze and drill. Rarely use sludge and only on robot mission the flamethrower

Tuned cooler doesn't affect damage. It increases freezing power.

My fav build for driller so far is tuned cooler, melee-focused. Pretty unique feeling when compared to other classes or even driller builds.

This is one of your best videos. Thanks. I've been using ice spear for dreadnaught chunking, like a budget hyperpropellant engie. Tricky to manage, but if i press reload the moment the dread freezes, the frozen multiplied ice spear damage is frightening.

I'll be honest I started playing driller after 2 prestiges on gunner in order to be a little more versatile in picking a class but I like the flamethrower more, the cryo cannon just kinda doesn't fit me. The freezng is cool, but I feel like you need a good secondary to finish the frozen enemies because it doesn't do a lot of damage by itself so either you with your secondary or your teammates need to finish the frozen enemies

Something that might be worth mentioning for Ice Storm in particular if you tend to fly solo with Bosco. Counter that reduced freeze potential with the cryo rockets to help you freeze bigger bugs and thus get the ice storm rolling its full damage faster

Great weapon if a bit boring. Also kind of a risky weapon to bring to Elimination games because you never know if the other players will bring heat generating weapons.

Love this wepon because it gives great regen but could use a tiny ammo buff or shuffling its mod tree a bit. Also sometimes you switch the words increase and decrease or improve and reduce. With Ice storm I noramlly grab no freeze mods and go all pressure and ammo but take cold radiance which is like 7 freeze power + it's in an AOE. It only reaches 4 meters but that's fine. Ice storm runs out of ammo fast but kills quickly that way and still freezes sometimes but it's really just facemelter but better. Don't forget to take damage instead of ammo though because the benefit of +6 damage is better then getting 150 ammo at least in my opinion.

Spear does way more damage, in practice, than Ice Storm. Rewatch how long it takes you to kill large enemies. Ice Spear one shots everything that’s frozen, except for Oppressors, bulks and Dreadnoughts. Just freeze it and delete it. Take the wavecooker and axes and you will literally be deleting everything at every range. (Bonus) spec your drills for damage and take the vampire perk. You’ll be healing off of the frozen swarms after deleting the big bois with your spear and axes. Plus, you’ll be saving some secondary ammo by having two options for wave clear.

Snow ball is the only other overclock that competes with spear, simply because you can one-shot mactera swarms; however, this utility is situational. Spear is the best choice in most situations, though.

When you said the damage of ice spear is at a fixed number does that mean that ice spear not affected by blisters, frozen targets, IFGs, or weak points then?
