This is the final part of the respray side of the van, with the van paint done, it will be time to move onto the alloys next.

Lockdown has given us plentry of time to do stuff round the house, so im ignoring all those jobs by renovating the van. Started off with just repairing the rust, but that turned out to be every panel , and the colour i got wasnt quite a match so there was only one option really. This is not a show quality respray, as its very far from ideal situation to spray the van in, but itsl be good enough for me, and im pretty picky.

This is NOT a How-To, because ive never not done much of this before which will become apparent, but mearly a log of what im doing. Ive got the time, so if it takes me a weeks it takes weeks, which lockdown has given us due to the corona virus.

This is not my trade, more my hobby it seems, getting most off my info off Youtube, namely The Gunman, austrailian sprayer whos not afraid to share his skills with others.

Equipment used, i bought a cheap 24 ltr compresor ( soon to be changed as the job got too big) which is ok for panel at a time work,
devlisbiss SLG starting line gun £70
Makita BO6050j Sander/Polisher £250
small Da £20
Mini air sander £30
Big compressor 100ltr 14cfn 8bar, £300 (machine mart)
Plus basic garage equipment.

Brilliant, mate. Goes to show what can be achieved at home with a bit of hard work. Jealous your van is so straight to start with. My T4 was previously owned by a blacksmith and judging by all the dings, I think he was partially sighted at best

I think what you have done is a credit to you, you can see why a pro respray costs £3k+ however it's satisfying to learn and try than not give it a go at all, I'd be very happy with the results if I were you 👍
