I love how in this game green hill, chemical plant and oil ocean sound the same but there are definitely some add ons to the base soundtrack. But this song right here just sounds like a remastered original. Perfect

The beauty of Hydrocity lies in the deliberate omission of a space in its name. Nearly every other zone name in Sonic 3 (& Knuckles) barring Sandopolis and Doomsday is composed of two words separated by spaces, but Hydrocity's lack of one creates a unique ambiguity in the pronunciation of its name. Is it meant to be taken at face value, as "Hydro City?" Is it a pun on "Hydro" and "Velocity?" What if I told you, dear reader, that I believe that the answer... is both?

The Japanese adore wordplay, and this wordplay can be found in the katakana spelling of the stage's name, as well, ハイドロシティ. This, too, is deliberately confusing, as once again, ハイドロ (Hydro) and シティ (City) could be interpreted as separate words, and in fact, there are those who try using this rendering as a "Gotcha" against the "Hydro" "Velocity" portmanteau camp.. However, when transcribed into Japanese, Velocity is rendered as ヴェロシティ, meaning that a portmanteau of "Hydro" and "Velocity" would be rendered as ハイドロシティ. In other words, both interpretations could be seen as valid in either language, and I believe that this was intentional, as a wordplay gag.

So pronounce Hydrocity however you wish!

Hydrocity, some say "Hydro City" but the meaning is the same! A great level with a great soundtrack!
