This 1898 collection of thirteen previously published articles exhibits the acute perception of one of the most popular writers of the late 19th-early 20th centuries. 'These 'Tales of the Trail' are based upon actual facts which came under the personal observation of the author… and will form another interesting series of stories of that era of great adventures, when the country west of the Missouri was unknown except to the trappers, hunters, and army officers.' Henry Inman (1837 - 1899) was an American soldier, frontiersman, and author. He served in the military during the Indian campaigns and the American Civil War, having earned distinction for gallantry on the battlefield. He was commissioned lieutenant general during the Indian wars. He settled in Kansas and worked as a journalist and author of short stories and books of the plains and western frontier. - Summary by Wikipedia, Book Preface, David Wales

Some of these stories put a knot in my stomach. Some of these frontier men were “ignorant savages” just like the Indians, if not worse.

How about slowing down on the commas and pausing on the periods.

Too fast. I tried slowing it down and that was worse. Thanks anyway.

I sure appreciate the I can't use any imagination at the pace of the reader.

David it hurts to see someone invest so m uc h t i m e in creating an unlistenable product. Please construct yourself an anechoic space Or ufor your good voice, dispensing with the room reverb which tires the ear so. Or use a voice treatment such as VEA to clean off the reverb and re upload with a decent sound.

Do you think Natural Resources are important? Do they teach you about natural resources in school?

There's nothing quite like listening to someone speaking in a monotone voice, and quickly. It really gives me a headache, sorry to say.

Really liked the book but could you get a better reader?

It is too much work to understand you. I think it is partly because of the gravel in your voice, partly (perhaps) a cheap microphone, and partly because of your not enunciating all of the words exactly. For example, when you said "horrid" it comes across as "horri". I've played it back and there was no "d" sound. If I concentrate I can get almost everything. I could only do this for a little less than 10 minutes.

Dreadful reader. A rapid and monotonous.
