What an amazing New Year's gift I received from one of my listeners, Wayne Corelli, who was mentored by the late great singer, songwriter, composer, and arranger Bobby Scott. Wayne has been my go-to person whenever I need a Bobby Scott dose. He gifted me a video titled “Anton Perich Presents: Bobby Scott at the Rainbow Room.” Anton Perich is a filmmaker, photographer, and video artist, born in Dubrovnik, Croatia, in 1945. He has lived and worked in New York City since 1970, and he was filming the event at the Rainbow Room that spotlighted Bobby Scott that night.

Also interviewed during the event was Walter Yetnikoff, who served as the President of CBS Records International from 1971 to 1975 and then as president and CEO of CBS Records from 1975 to 1990. He was incredibly enthusiastic about Bobby Scott.

I took the time to research the contents of this video to determine the period it was filmed. Phyllis Hyman provided invaluable information during her interview. She mentioned that she had just signed with Buddah Records in 1976, right after her music with Norman Connors was released that same year. She was working on her first album, which came out in 1977.
