What to do if you lost all of your car keys!
I have several videos on my channel showing how you can duplicate or make a copy of your car key by yourself for a very reasonable price. In each case you must have at least one working original key for your car in order for this to work.
However, the number one question I get asked on those videos is - What should I do if I lost all of my keys. Quick answer is - yes, it's still possible, but... You won't be able to do it yourself, it will cost you at least three times more, and you will need to have a proof of ownership for your car.
You will need to go to a local dealer with certificate of title in your name with a VIN number listed in there. In some cases you may even have to tow your car to the dealership to be able to get the replacement key programmed. Replacement key and programming will usually cost you upward of $300.
Therefore, if you have one and only key for your car right now, I suggest you make a duplicate spare key as soon as possible. It usually costs anywhere from 30 to 100 dollars. In many cases you can program your new key at home by yourself.

My only key is locked in my 2003 Honda Odyssey ... I have read elsewhere that a Honda Dealer, with proof of ownership, will cut a key that will only open a door ... for $15.

I have a 2017 Toyota camry, and I lost my key fob.Thankfully, . I have a spare key which opens the doors as well starts the car. Now I'm thinking of making my spare key my main key. What I was wondering is if I make a copy of my Spare key and it doesn't have a chip in it, .Will I still be able to open the door? or does the door require a chip as well?

This is not correct information you can get your key made as long as it’s just the key without the fob for as low as $15 at the dealer. If you need the fob it will run around $45 altogether. I just had to do this about a month ago.

what I do when I have the key and the chip inside the plastic, but I dont have the plastic? I tried buying a new un cut key with no chip inside of it for like $5 and put in the chip and replace the key but it still didnt work

I damage one of my key fobs and looking to purchase another fob. The damage fob still works by only if I hold it up to the ignition switch. Can I reprogram my spare key fob at home and not take it to the dealership? Thanks!

Not true what you actually have to do is remove the entire immobilizer what you would do in some circumstances anyway after the immobilizer has been removed disable the security system then you can use a literal Marine ignition switch plug in your wires properly to to your ignition switch and you can start your car and drive it they only catch 22 is when you stop and shut the vehicle off you have no way of using a security system nor do you have any way of locking your steering in which case you would get one of the security bars that locks to your brake pedal and to the lower portion of your steering wheel in some cases you need to unplug the memory and plug it into the side computer one chamber at a time from start bottom.
