Tested: iPhone 11 Pro vs OnePlus 7T Cameras

The new iPhone 11 Pro adds an ultrawide camera to its back, complementing the standard wide-angle and telephoto cameras. Ultrawide lenses aren't new to smartphones, and we compare the camera systems on the iPhone 11 Pro to the three cameras on the new OnePlus 7T. The iPhone's ultrawide has a frustrating limitation, and the OnePlus 7T's cameras have a unique mode that's very impressive.

Nice comparison, im glad this was not another "OMG The iPhone is better in everything, just buy the iPhone" review. Both are quite good, when it comes to the price, the OP7T its a killer phone.

Thank you for this warning. The OnePlus 7T oviously has horrible post processing, making the images look unnatural, sometimes even artificial. Nothing ruins a good picture like digital sharpening effects. I want my pictures to look as close to reality as possible, thank you very much. Please don't try to "enhance" them for me.

It looks like you have the beauty filter running on your 7T pictures - maybe turn that off and redo?

Maybe it's the conversion and compression to video for YouTube but subjectively the iPhone images looked much better to me, at least the interior shots. Exterior shots I'd give a slight edge to the 7T, but the interior shots on the 7T looked washed out, yellow tinted, and appeared to have an unnatural smoothing applied. Maybe the raw photos look better on a calibrated computer monitor.

Interesting. I thought the iPhone photos looked way better than the other phone you tested. Strange that we disagreed. I didn’t think it was close. The sharpness and the color rendering appeared way better on the iPhone.

Why did all the Oneplus pics on the first comparison all seem to be alot more zoomed in. Was that you or the Camera?

I loath Apple products however I liked the color and white balance of the iPhone better than the other one. But I am guessing you can fiddle with the white balance and warmth of the pictures in the settings.

Is there a reason you didn't talk about the differences when it comes to lighting, like shadows and low-light photography? In the side-by-side comparisons you showed that was one of the things I noticed most, it felt like the iPhone handled those shadows and whatnot better to me, and I thought you'd talk about that more, I'd be interested to know if that made it more convenient to get pictures without having to worry quite as much about the lighting

Is it just me or is somehow the autofocus on the iphone always missing? I saw other Reviews with crisp clear sharp shots. Is that 11 Pro faulty?

I didn't know people compare the two phone cameras. Obviously iPhone will have better cameras. That's literally the only downside of OnePlus. The question is weather or not the OnePlus pics are good enough for your taste

You said you used LG phones. I now own the LG V30 and I ordered the 7T (256/8). I'm afraid it's not a real upgrade.. QHD to 1080p, no more headphones jack, no more IP68 and camera seems more detailed on the V30 (I didn't get the 7T yet).
Do you feel it's a worthy upgrade? I'm mainly a camera oriented guy, and yes, I'll probably use gcam.

$1, 400.00 Canadian and it iPhone11 Pro doesnt even let you focus on short distance or macro? what the what??

I have both the 7t and iPhone 11...the iPhone is the better phone for camera and video tho the 7t is tremendous value for what you get over the iPhone....a lot depends on how much you value photos and video quality. Ultimately for me the iPhone wins even tho it is more expensive.
