Ah yes, a few millimetres of crappy side armour not only blocks but bounces HESH shells. Logics!

i noticed that the high armored vehicles almost allways have track armor where he shoots, maybe that has something to do with it?

So can the t 95 have repair costs reduced because more and more things are being added that can kill it easily

I love it when 8mm armour bounceses a 72.5kg round from the British Fv4005 going at speed of mark 2.2 or 2575kph . Noice 😃

So HESH/HEAT rounds detonate on any external armor (like tracks) at extreme angles and kill the tank, yet lightly armored SPAAs, SPGs, and other vehicles can bounce them? I feel something that supposed that has "high explosive" in their names is not working as they should since normal HE explodes on contact regardless of angle yet they don't? Is this how Gajin "balances" or "diversifies" with the ammo? Just curious.

Its a strange and yet undiscovered force called: "Luck Armor"

Ok, simple explanation. The T95, Jadgtiger, and Tiger II all have different tools, materials, and spare tracks on their sides, which causes the HESH shell to conform to their shape, and detonate. The M3, and BTR both have flat sides, with nothing for the HESH to catch on.
You're welcome for clearing up this misconception.

The shell should overmatch. The sheer volume/speed would COMPLETLY ignore the thin armour. Overmatch update when Gaijn?

The shell hit one of the spare tracks on side of T95 causing the shell to detonate and via destroying T95 but the other truck has smooth side plate therefore it bounced

HESH rounds need a relatively flat surface so the squash head can flatten and detonate, technically the add on armor tracks count as flat armor since it sticks out while shooting the half track st that angle prevents the HESH round from flattening out

I sense some personal experience behind this....lol

Gaijin logic between 1.7 and 6.7 tonks

It’s because it’s hitting the tracks and exploding on the side of the tank, not because Gaijin Logic. The smaller vehicles have nothing to explode on, hence they ricochet. This is how HESH works

The only catch here its that all heavy tanks had rope or tools that stick out... that makes the contact

That's why you always use machine guns against tissue paper and not oversized naval cannon HESH shells.

Flat surfaces tend to bounce more than tracks pieces on the side of the armor.

It's fucking tru tho, so many times has a gun on wheels survived or even taken no damage because the shell doesn't shrapnel

funny how on all the good armor you shoot tracks which dont bounce the shell but for all the bad armor you shoot perfectly flat plate which does bounce

epicestpoopmunchergangepm

Well, not exactly the same thing, you are hitting tracks and they can activate the fuse even at high angles, while with the light tanks you are hitting completely flat surfaces
