Get your wagons here: Now sold out!

I developed some new wagons, printed with resin and fully painted, which feature a new idea which I call "physical weathering"

Thanks for watching!

For anyone that was wondering, that is an coal truck from the old Bowes railway. It’s currently situated outside the Bowes Incline pub and hotel close to Springwell, Tyne and Wear. Would highly recommend their food

I like that it’s a Furness Railway wagon. The old FR is very underrepresented in the modelling community. Hornby/Hattons haven’t made any of it’s coaches, and no one (aside from Sam’s own Coppernob and a couple other modellers) have made any of the locomotives.

Your Models truly have gone from a fun gimmic for fans of the channel to professional grade models that could be appreciated by anyone!

Now all we need is a plastic locomotive in physical weathering Sam.

These are genuinely amazing! I never knew a 3D model could look so good. And your idea for physically weathered rolling stock is great. Your painting turned out great too and adds to the insane amount of work it must have took to design these. Well done. From the thumbnail I really thought these were from a professional manufacturer and even by looking at them you can’t tell they aren’t.
Awesome work Sam and Chloe.

Sam, ps, just make sure your price actually covers your and Chloe's time, inc. materials. I actually dont mind paying extra for a limited edition custom built model as it supports your efforts going forward!🙂

Love it! These are getting really good. This reminds me of something else which is probably discussed ad nauseum on model railway forums (which I don't read) - locomotive models always have perfect body panels whereas in reality the panels tend not to be flat and you can see this in the way the light falls on each area. I'd love to see someone produce a locomotive with more realistic panelling/construction which is a bit less even.

Those wagons look so good Sam! I hope we start to see more of this feature soon. They have all already sold out though!

Hi Sam. Brilliant! and well executed. I'm an old guy (70+) living in Canada, I have been collecting models trains for a long time.
I've been watching your excellent reviews for a couple of years and this has to be one of the best Ideas ever.
Is there a way to fabricate the planks individually and have them slot into uprights, then you could make a variety of differently weathered planks as a kit to minimize repetition, Do you think this may multiply the variants by a significant factor? If you were to create a larger wagon such as a van there could be many combinations especially if both sides of the planks were weathered. Keep up the good work you are a credit to this hobby.

Absolutely BRILLIANT idea!!

I've been thinking about this for years but never had the means to make it happen.

I'll miss out on this run as I can't afford this week and undoubtedly they will sell out, but please please PLEASE do more batches of these in the future :)

Excellent production project. Please don't forget that the value for you in this enterprise is in the computer files. There are sufficient small companies out there that could do you an excellent price on a short run of these files. You truly don't have to do it all in the first instant. Your skill is in the visualization and assembly of the elements of the project. May I also suggest that other areas of modelling may benefit from your approach. ( That set of buffers in your video for example ) and the OO9 world. Well Done ! All success to you and your team.

The resin chassis over the FDM is very clever. Nice job Sam!
