Tough Boy... Marin Pine Mountain Steel Bike With E-Bike Kit In Test.

I bought a Marin Pine Mountain a few weeks ago.
I researched well before I bought it.
I like the everything about this bike.
It suites my purpose.
Easy weekend trail rides and a commuter during the week and for shopping.
I like the all gloss green on the 2019 model.
It reminds me of British racer green!
... the only problem is with the bike shop and not the bike;
It seems that they decided to keep the heavy duty Marin skewers for themselves
that come with the bike and put on the regular skewers.
The Marin Pine Mountain spread is 141 x 9 mm for the back.
... a regular skewer does not work.
Although the wheel is secure on the cro mo steel frame, it bobs up and down slightly
and moves from side to side slightly.
The cones are good.
The spokes are good.
The rim is good.
... the regular skewer does not work.

THIS bike shop also decided to keep the Marin steering plate and cap for themselves
and replaced it with only a plate with their logo and no cap.

I WANT THE EXACT BIKE THAT COMES FITTED FROM THE MANUFACTURER WITH
NO MODIFICATIONS.

LETS see how they handle this situation.

I wanted that bike last winter, but bought a fatbike instead. I have lots of fun with the fatbike, but I still love that steel 27.5+! Missing the thru-axle in my opinion... might have helped with disc rubbing

Could you please tell me what Bafang kit you ordered for the Pine Mountain 1? Im not sure what bottom bracket the Pine Mountain comes with. Id certainly apreciatte it.

I'm curious how challenging the Bafang install was? I live on Vancouver Island with lots of road riding but want something that I can use on the beach/trails as well. Any input on this bike would be great

I was lucky enough to get a PineMountain1 (the 2016 anniversary edition) and I am completely in love with it. I have not tried clipless pedals on it yet, but I want to see how those would work out for me, as well as riding in cages. I just don't have the slightest idea what the bolts on the underside of the toptube are for.

How big a deal is braking with two fingers instead of one? When I rode a rode bike, I often used four fingers I think. But I wasn't careening down a single track mountain trail. :)
