This man is a world treasure. His vast experience in both military and intelligent circles is unparalled.
However, hearing him talk for the first time about working for British intelligence in operations against the IRA gave me a chill.. . I lived through those dark days as a citizen of the British occupied part of Ireland.
I hope Col Baud was at least able to impart to his British colleagues his sense of justice and his obvious humanity.
I cannot imagine he would have treated the Irish civilians as badly as some of the British soldiers did.
