Driving in Italy: Autostrada A8 E35 E62 from Milano to Varese

In this video you can ride along on Autostrada A8 E35 from Milano to Varese in the North of Italy. I have driven the international route from Switzerland to Italy and vice versa via A2 / A9 many times now so I figured I'd take a different route this time: The A8 via Varese.

Unfortunately we hit traffic at some point right before the junction with A26. It seemed like a controlled stop by the police only a few cars ahead of us. Not sure why but we were parked there for almost an hour.

Continuing to Varese I got confused as the A60 around the city was not signed properly. I will feature that highway in a future video on the channel.

The Romans build the first highways in the world 2000 years ago . Their armies could march 40 km per day on those back then . Smart people back in those days . For sure they would not stop all traffic for an hour because an animal was on the road . Hunt it down and eat if for dinner as steak . But they killed a lot of European populations too and that is very sad . And of north Africa and Est Mediterraneans populations and that's sad too And they also killed each other . And they started to clash with the Persians and Chinese and others till the Mongols got to become interested in their Empire . And hundreds of years of invading waves killed the Roman empire too . Sad, so why build highways afterall ... nice job Niels .
