Thermite Rain?!?

My first attempt at making thermite rain down in a hellish fire! I used 80g of iron oxide and 20g of aluminum for this recipe. Although the "rain" wasn't what I hoped for, I still got some hot footage of the thermite reaction! Hope you enjoy!

I am so glad you posted this video because we don't always have success and I love seeing other people's trials and tribulations.I too just recently tried to do the same thing you did and there wasn't enough oxygen and I had the exact same situation happen so I was wondering how you were going to pull this off when I started watching it and then I noticed you had the exact same problem I did. But I'm so glad you went through with it and showed us your situation and I just love how you always show us whatever happens and that's great so I will keep watching you.

The music when the termite was raining is pretty good, I'm going to look for it in the description. Cool video too!

What a coincidence! That is my preferred method of disposing of yard waste also!

Thermite has its own oxygen within the iron oxide, so It doesn't need an oxygen supply to burn. You can set thermite in dry ice (pure CO2) and it will still burn. It almost seemed like the aluminum was almost a tad too big for combustion. What size are your aluminum powder particles? If you ordered them it should say. The smaller the better.
