Joncan Kavlakoglu plays an original whirlwind style of highly visceral, passionately-charged, percussive flamenco/funk fusion. Joncan’s style melds his appreciation for a wide range of musical styles into captivating performances on a single acoustic guitar that sounds like an entire band.

Described as ‘James Brown meets Rodrigo y Gabriela on an acoustic guitar’, his performances combine the athletic skill of percussive techniques with emotive, highly dynamic and groove-based playing. This creates a visually enthralling element alongside an atmosphere that gets people moving and pushes an audience’s expectation of what an acoustic guitar can do.

Joncan Kavlakoglu has been performing since 13 years old. Having performed internationally from Lisbon to London, Istanbul to Dublin and Lake Konstanz to Edinburgh, ranging from chic hotel bars, street festivals, large scale corporate events, rowdy European bars, and Victorian stately homes, Joncan performs to all crowds with an equal amount of passion and flare.

Joncan was featured on British TV in 2016 performing for guitar legend George Benson on Sky Arts. He performed twice on primetime BBC1 Shows The One Show and Inside Out in 2017.
