Braun Series 3 Complete Review - 340 S-4

Here is a full review of the Braun Series 3, 340 S-4 shaver. This review is applicable to all the Series 3 shavers because their shaving performance is the same, however I've included a quick overview of the differences between the models. As a mid level electric shaver I highly recommend it.

Some Series 3 models come with a cleaning station however this specific model is the wet shaving model. This is the only Braun shaver you can use wet, apart from the 380 S4 which is the exact same except for a precious lock feature which isn't needed. There is also the dry razor only option which is the cheapest (320 S4).

my main reasons includes : the price, my beard thickness (medium-thick), and dry shaving works only for me, I was using cheap 2 blade rotary philips and it doesn't do the job anymore as i need shave everyday for my work . I've always been skeptical about electric razors but decided to buy this one just for the hell of it, and wow I'm impressed! Every bit as good as a razor if not better cause it doesn't leave my sensitive skin irritated. I love it

On day 3 that's where you use the trimmer that's attached to trim down the hair on your face and then go over it w the coils . I highly doubt Braun added in the trimmer to touch up your side burns . The trimmer on the series 1 gave me a closer shave after almost 11 days not shaving and then using the regular coil shaver my face felt soft and nice which is why I got the series 3 when I saw it on sale . You can go a month without shaving and use the trimmer to take the hair down and the coil to finish the job . Any of these models are worth the money .

After seeing this i went out and bought a braun series 3 wet dry razor and used it and i love it!! and i will never buy anything but braun for now on thank you for the great review

I recently bought 340s, with almost a week old beard I tried to shave it (wet) but it failed horribly. Part for precision shaving helped a bit so I got smaller hair to shave but even after that it didnt perform as I expected. It took way more time than I would want to and my skin got irritated. As you said, its for daily shaving, more suitable for dry shaving and you might give it a time to get used to it.

Thanks very much for this video. I was not too pleased with this model up to now, perhaps because the manual I received did not clearly explain how to clean the head, and said nothing about using shaving cream. However, I have just followed your instructions with excellent results. Good job.

so after debating, i bought the cruzer, and wow, i was impressed ! i loved it, very close shave. haven't spent to much time with all the little guards and gadgets, but im sure ill like them p.s. im Mexican, and i have lots of facial hair, not thick but alot, and it worked for me

I don't know, i just purchased it and tried to shave my face, but it barely cuts.. i don't know, maybe the blades are blunt, but i doubt that, because i just purchased it and only used for one time.

Personally I was given a series 3, 340-4 @ I LOVE IT @ have been using it now for about 6 years @ it IS still FANTASTIC... it's SO easy if u can't b bothers OR don't have time 4 wet shave.so..

bought this exact shaver, was very happy with it until it crapped out after about 6 months..nice shave, trimmer is just ok but after about 6 mo shaver would turn on and off by itself..never worked right again!

This shaver is ok, but it can struggle around the neck area from my experience. It missed neck hairs and multiple passes still couldn't do the Job properly for me. You're right because some people would be better off upgrading to something more powerful.

i bought this after watching your review. Honestly I'm not very happy with it. It does a good job if i shave every 1-3 days. But once a week is a struggle. And never perfect clean. I found it to work better when shaving wet.

As you said they're all the basic machine but some with extra features. What's then Wet and Dry shave feature, if they're all the same. I heard that 380s and 340s you cannot use with them plugged in, as some people would use them plugged-in in a shower. So they just disabled the ability to use them while plugged in as a safety precaution and sell them more expensive??
