President-elect Joe Biden announced a hefty new $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, which includes increased stimulus check payments worth $1,400. The proposed package, called the American Rescue Plan, is expected to be introduced as soon as Biden takes office on Jan. 20. In an address to the nation Jan. 14, the president-elect said the plan would provide "immediate relief to Americans hardest hit and most in need."
