“Why is he safe…?”

America felt that…

10 years later and this still makes me mad. Miguel's reaction says it all.

Even the batter that hit that ground ball couldn’t believe he was called safe. He probably said to Jim Joyce, the one time I would have more than happy to be called out and you called me safe?!

I heard Armando is tryin to get it overturned. I was never so upset about a call as I was when this happened. Second is Inge getting hit (in the Jersey) in game 163 in 09.

I remember this and it upset me at the time. Galaraga took it so well. Then he was bounced all through the minors until he retired. but looks like he got well recognized for it, wonder if the history books will remember him, without the actual perfect game. At least in this age of adequate video documentation this will be remembered.... it has it's own wikipedia page...

Galarraga is a king! To smile like that.

Armando Galarraga took care of his emotions and calmly finished the 28th hitter.
No other perfect games can beat this 28-out perfect game and it will be remembered forever!

I can't think of a better example of class and calm. Legend. The Tigers and the Galarraga handled this with dignity.

The sad thing is, even in real-time non slow motion... it's abundantly clear that he was out.
