I've had a computer on the dev channel for more than a year now, so know this, once you are on the dev channel:
1. you will get builds quite often, and while there will be excitement every time there is a new one, this will get old quickly.
2. a dev build are not permanent, it will expire after one month or so, so you cannot postpone upgrades indefinitely. In the end you will be forced to keep you windows updated to the latest dev/preview build
3. because you will be always ahead of current version (see #2) you will not be able to go back to a lower release channel. Basically no downgrade is available. MS presents some solutions, there is also the "stop getting preview build" option, but this WILL NOT WORK, see again #2 as for why.
4. if you want to downgrade to a lower/more stable channel the only solution is to backup everything and then do a fresh install of windows.

Personally, I found the Dev builds quite stable, so I don't consider this a major reason for concern. Having to scrap everything to get back it may be an issue tough, if you get tired about experimenting build often and quite forcefully.

My machine is old (T450) but I was able to install Windows 11 even though I don't have a compatible processor and TPM 2. What I did was, I just downloaded an ISO of the official Insider build and installed as usual. Installation was smooth but I did notice some lags on first boot, which were gone when I installed some updates. I hope there won't be any issues going forward. 😅

I installed Windows 11 on my PC by bypassing the TPM check from the Windows Registry and I'm in the beta channel for stable builds.

Use 'Windows Health Check' app to see if your PC is windows 11 compatible. There is an option for it in the app. Download it free from Microsoft website. Avoid using 3rd party apps as much as possible.
