I love how earnestly hopeful Christian music is. Love this playlist video, a lot of these songs I've never heard but now they're my favorites.
In part because several songs really helped me develop one of my characters for a story...it's crazy how many parallels there are between the main character's values and Christian values. Never even considered it until I listened to this. I don't really know how appropriate it is to explore all this here, so let me know if this isn't the place to talk about my story.

The song Only Jesus was really good, that line "I don't wanna live a legacy, I don't care if they remember me, only Jesus, " really just resonates with me. Sabre, my main character, doesn't want to be remembered as some all-powerful being, though many still look up to him as if he were like God. All he wants is for everyone to remember each other, not himself, in the end - there aren't any humans, so the Christian word can't be spread there sadly. But Sabre honestly kind of lives his life like a Christian.

Long story short, he went through a lifetime of adventure, and then ended up in a new world, right at the beginning of that adventure, with the same story to be lived once again. Now that he's gone through the chaos of living once, he wants to do better. So he uses his experience to warn people and protect those he couldn't save, even going as far as giving his enemies the chance to change. He knows now why they follow the dark path, and he wants to show them the light.

Start Right Here was really good too. Sabre's entire belief is in unity and small acts of kindness spreading good. Now that he knows what the future holds, he wants the people he has lived his adventures with to find love for one another and reason for living to be better. The song Joy was SO good, it's so genuine and happy. Sabre has been through a lot, but he chooses to open his heart and spread joy even though it's hard. He'd choose to relive his adventure again and again, because he wants to see these people happy and living in peace of mind and heart.

The song Who Am I also hits hard, because that's exactly what a lot of the other characters think of Sabre. Not that he's any way like God, but Sabre's genuine love often makes the other characters wonder if they even deserve him. He has a genuine belief in goodness, despite the times he's witnessed the darkness all around and within him. Sometimes he himself wonders why he deserves this second chance at life in the first place. Just a really good song, I love it.

Together is also one of my favorites, it's so so good!! Sabre's greatest wish is for everyone to come together, rise together. Unity through mutual love. Even his enemies. A king, corrupt by power, so afraid of being on the losing side that he'd rather side with evil and live on. An isolated man, lost without his old friends to guide him, so obsessed with being a hero that he eventually becomes a sacrificial "hero" for evil. One born into evil, meant only to play a role as a vessel of darkness, a henchman for the king. Even one of the greatest evils he faces, Void, Sabre still wishes to give him the light. Void once was a hero, but the pressure of his role was too much and he gave into the darkness within his heart, the fear of becoming evil leading him to his downfall. Now that Sabre knows why these people live a life of evil, he mourns for those who didn't take his hand into the light. Some of them were too deep in to accept help, and Sabre mourns for what could've been. Maybe in another world they are doing better, but now, he'll have to protect innocents from their dark ways. Until they are no longer blinded by evil, or they fall to their final fates.

God Only Knows is just really good, similar to how Sabre knows a lot of the future thanks to living through it once already. He knows he has to open his heart and trust everyone, so that no one feels alone. In his first adventure, he lost his best friend because he didn't notice the pressure of the role they played was getting to them. They fell to the darkness within their heart, only to be used by Void and dying alone, even though Sabre did everything in his power to save them. He won't let anyone die thinking no one cares, he will listen and will not let this happen again.

Everything is also a great song, I love it because it's also appreciating the beauty of the world, the light in the mundane. That's something that Sabre also savors, because the first time around, he didn't do that. And now he regrets not holding onto the small things, the tiny acts of goodness and love that shines in everything. It's ultimately why he wants everyone to remember each other in the end, he wants their stories told and known, so that their light will never dim.
