People can like XV more than XVI, but that doesn't make it a better game. XVs flaws just stick out like a sore thumb throughout the entire experience.

I love XV to death. It was my first Final Fantasy. It's story is the most attractive piece of trash I have ever played, and I will do so many times in my life.

But XVI is coherent, a blast to play, and an improvement in every aspect, hands down.

Personally found FF15 boring, didnt like the setting and didnt find the characters that interesting. Everyone has there thing, just found FF15 to much of something I wasn't into and FF16 having a bit more of what i want, even though I have always preferred turn based RPGs. But it has been awhile since a Final Fantasy really gave me that feel

I feel like 15 was way more impactful for a generation. More content leading up to release, different direction after the Nomura situation and the divisiveness kept the conversation going.

I think XVI has much higher highs, but I enjoyed XV more overall though it obviously has much lower lows.

I like FF15 but FF16 was absolutely better imo.

FF15s Lunafreya was the biggest misstep in any video game ever. What should have been a major character with a very heartfelt story ended up with me not ever caring about her because we never spent enough time with her to care. This is coming from someone who consumed the prequel movie and anime of FF15 before playing just to be immersed.

Even though the combat, writing and acting/setpieces of 16 were better, the lackluster RPG elements kind of nullify that (no status effect, no weapon upgrades, no elemental damages, all but 9 skills being useful so after you get enough AP to max 9 skills everything any additional AP is completely useless, lack of side content (mini games, fishing, etc.), exploration being meaningless as well, etc.) -- Overall, I'd say I preferred FF15 because of all of that. Especially the Royal Editing with the alternate Ignis Ending which made it so freakin amazing! :)

So while I respect your opinion, don't go dismissing anyone who don't agree so fast without hearing any arguments ;) L&R

15 has it’s issues, but I would rather go back and replay 15 than 16.

I meaaan I really enjoy XV's combat system more than XVI's and its dungeons and its music and its main villain a hell of a lot more. If XV had combat as polished as XVI's you remember it more fondly. but because it has latency and enemies feel like air it brings it down . But it has a better combo system.

XV still has one of the worst combat systems and game balancing i have ever experienced in a videogame, that alone makes it worse than XVI. Everything is style over substance, enemies and bosses don't react to hits at all and just keep doing their thing, hold button dodge and combo combat + warp strike spam for 95% of the content. And on top of that the way they handled the unfinished release, pre release movie that cut the invasion aka one of the most important parts of the story, pre release anime, novels, paid post release DLC just to fill obvious gaps of which some were even cancelled etc. Empty open world filled with nothing but random hunts, no good optional dungeons, summons etc. Lunafreya being completely wasted and many other things.
The bond between the party was great and the music of course, but that's about it.
The Duscae demo is honestly the best part about XV.
People can personally love XV, but i can't take anyone seriously who thinks it's objectively a better game or good game at all.
If any other company had releases a game in that state, with prequel media and post release DLC etc. they would get hate for years, but XV can do no wrong for some reason.

I finished 15 and mostly enjoyed it, 16 I quit after about 20 hours when I realized I didn’t care about a single character and the game was so easy it might as well have played itself.

ok lets be real here.. the hate for FF15 comes from the FFversus13 fraction of fans. and the hate tainted FF15s reputation. i never gave a sh!t about the versus13 concept so i viewed FF15 with more nutural eyes.
ff15 vs FF16:
Story structure wise.. FF16 is the better game. the story is more refined and longer. The combat is more fun(not more complex tho. you can actually do more in FF15 but its a bit chaotic). its more bombastic in totall..
BUT from the emotional impact and the characters.. FF15 DWARFS FF16. in no other FF (Maybe beside ff6 and 7) i had a deeper connection with the main cast.. no other FF had me crying like a bitch more than FF15 ending.. and FF15 has one of the best villains in FF(especially if you played the ardyn DLC). Ardyn is basically like a modern version of kefka.
while i really liked clive and jill.. and especially cid in FF16.. they never really had me that deeply emotional attached as the 4 boys in FF15. and even tho the open world in FF15 is not really the best of its genre.. it still gave a greater feeling of advanture than in FF16. Even tho FF16 is gameplay wise maybe a better game.. for me a good final fantasy i mostly measure with its characters and the connected emotions. and the story(even tho it was a patchwork of a story) just did hit me 100times harder than the story in FF16.
