Mothman Prophecies is one of the few films that genuinely creeped me out. Especially the phone call scene.

I’m from Point Pleasant and I lived near the TNT Area and even used to go running back there. It’s easy to see why it’s such an unsettling area.
I met a handful of people that said they met the Mothman in the late 60’s. If you ever get the chance, take a trip to the TNT Area. Ask locals for directions because you can’t find it on any map.
Also be sure to stop by the Mothman Museum and Statue!

It's hard for me to get chills but that scream does it very easily.

That shriek at the beginning, man. The most horrifying I've ever heard my entire life. And it seem's to be original, not some old tired stock sound.
Great artistic work.

I'm not sure why it was not mentioned here because it's an important detail in the story, but the Mothman was seen by a number of people perched on the top of the bridge the day before it collapsed. Some say he's not a bringer or cause of doom so to speak, but more of a warning that something bad is about to happen.

The Mothman is similar to a Legend in Britain known as the “Skree of Culloden” in which a creature with ‘leathery bat like wings, burning red eyes and the head of man” appeared before The Scottish Jacobite army encampment on the evening of the 15th April, 1748. The Beast shrieked and screamed at the Scots until they began to shoot at it, in which it vanished and was never seen again. One man who confirmed the sighting was Lord George Murray, who was known by many to be a rational and level headed individual. The next day, the Scottish rebels were crushed by the English army, suffering huge casualties. Leading many of the surviving scots the believe the creature was a ill omen and harbinger of failure and death.

Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads

All my memories gather round her
Miner's lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads

I hear her voice, in the morning hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And driving down the road I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads

Take me home, down country roads
Take me home, down country roads

The Mothman gives me some serious goosebumps. Could be what he looks like, the sound you put up for him, or that if he pops up then _something_ is going to go very, _VERY_ wrong.

5:40 Because cranes are definitely known for having red eyes and scavenging dead dogs for food.

Ive heard shrieks very similar to the ones throughout the video before, when my mom stepped on one of my brother’s LEGO’s. It terrified me back then and it terrifies me now.

That scream in the beginning is just me stepping on a lego

Point Pleasant is my old stomping ground, and for the record it is lovely there. We used to party at the old TNT area all the time when I was younger. I'm 43 now and a few years back me and a girl I was dating at the time had a run in with an fn HUGE bird type thing out there. I'm from the area so naturally I know all of the old stories. As a matter of fact, my grandmother crossed the Silver Bridge twice on the day that it fell while she was out Christmas shopping and my fn PARENTS crossed it the same day on their way to elope. At any rate, my ex and I were parked out there and we suddenly saw a ginormous bird thing shoot right out in front of us and then take off straight up into the air. It spooked me all to hell and she was literally in tears wanting to leave. Keep in mind that I'm a combat veteran and I've been shot at numerous times, but that damn.. whatever it was.. scared me more than any bullet ever did. It was actually an odd sort of fear. You sense something isn't quite right, then you see it and almost have a heart attack, and then you're on pins and needles for the next 3 or 4 days. I won't go so far as to say it's something supernatural or an alien, but there most definitely was and still is something out there.

Wait. A UFO lands, and the occupant asks about lights on the horizon, not knowing they're from a nearby town?
Worst spaceship pilot ever

The mothman is just a death omen. His appearance is always just before a huge accident happens, or calamity. If u see it, note where, and when; then stay out of the area, observing the area from a safe distance and wait for the accident/ event as it occurs.

I live in Florida and see Sandhill cranes almost every day. We have tons of them around the Tampa area. I'll walk outside to get my mail and they're in my front lawn. I see them flying. No way would anyone mistake them for anything but a large bird. And I have never seen one taller than four feet. Also they mate for life so it's rare to find just one.

Mothman is one of the most mysterious and interesting cryptids.
