Feeling heard is most important for those going through a rough time. Saying something like, “tell me more about what you’re going through” and then listening with empathy is enough.

Sharing how I got myself out of bad situations usually helps when a friend needs advice. People need a reminder that the issues we go through aren't unique, and that there's a way out

Personally I would tell them to be empathetic and non-judgmental. Let your friend know you're there for them and ready to listen whenever they need to talk. Encourage them to seek professional help if they're open to it, and remind them that it's okay to ask for support. Cause tbh Your presence and understanding can make a good difference.

I hate when people say you're not alone. You don't know me or my story. I can't believe that was the "right" answer over being too hard on yourself. Having grown up with a sister who always makes everything about herself and has to one-up things, even if they're bad (or maybe especially...), it just feels like another way of having my feelings disregarded. Like "you're not the only one that feels that way, get over it/move on already." Meanwhile, I am too often hard on myself and it helps to be reminded of that so I can ease up.

I love this and I think it’s a very important issue and topic in our world and I’m glad people are trying to make mental health a more open topic ❤

When someone seems a bit off from how they usually act, whether it be anger, sadness, or anything negative, always ask them if they’re okay, or tell them what is wrong. Doing so will maybe help them to open up to you, and they will feel much better. :D

A nice way to come up to a lady is to say your earrings look beautiful on you. It will make her smile... And then the conversation can start 😉
