During the Senate impeachment trial, House impeachment manager Ted Lieu argued President Trump had run out of nonviolent options to hold on to power, after numerous failed lawsuits and attacking members of his own party. Lieu says that the president became desperate and turned to the violent mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol.
