I learned a lot about the Painted Dogs from a Zoo professional today. Their biggest advantage wasn't even mentioned. They have incredible tactics, different dogs doing different jobs to win. Also, while pit bulls have an easy life getting fed and sleeping in a house, painted dogs are killing wild African game every day and defending themselves from animals like lions. No contest, it's like a young Mike Tyson versus a street punk.

By comparison, any pitbull is like a chihuahua compared to an African wild dog. Pitbulls face nothing in their daily existence compared to what African wild dogs have evolved to be wary of every second of their lives, such as hyenas, leopards, lions, etc. And pitbulls never have to hunt and kill to survive. It is pure redneck fantasy that a larger, stronger, genuinely ferocious wild dog that cannot be turned into a sweet little pet could ever be defeated by a pitbull. Rednecks would never allow an African wild dog to enter deep south dog fights, as the wild dog is just far to powerful and nasty against American mutts that have never fought a hyena!

I've had Pitbulls and admire the AWD too. Fighting a pure pitdog against an AWB is like fighting a professional hunter against a cage fighter. Pitdogs are not the same as Amstaffs. They can fight for hours!

If the wild dog has the pack (packs can contain as many as 15 wild dogs), the wild dogs come out on top. If it is a one-on-one battle, the American Pitbull will most likely win. The American Pitbull is stronger, tougher, more tenacious, better at head-to-head combat, and is capable of single-handedly bringing down animals hundreds of pounds. On top of that, the American Pitbull possesses something the wild dog does not have--gameness. This means that while the African wild dog is more likely to run away, the American Pitbull will not. So while the African wild dog would have to kill the Pitbull to win, the American Pitbull could kill the wild dog or win by the wild dog just giving up and running away. Since a wild dog is faster than an American Pitbull, it would be able to get away.

People who dont own real bulldog dont know what they dealing with, , only mammal/animal on earth who doesnt quit, goes till end, no matter off injuries.Wild boar, bulls, badgers, wolfs, bears, 200pounds dogs, name it, he finds the way to deal with it, why dont you think he cant handle African Wild Dog?or several off them😊It will be a crime to let pit go 1vs 1.

Y’all have to understand that a truly trained fighter pit bull is a hell of a lot different than those pit bulls you see people just walking with down the street. These dogs didn’t just fight each other to the death, but they were pit up against bears, fighter bulls & lions. I know the AWDs have high stamina but the pit bull has more than enough stamina to kill it, especially if it’s in a caged match we’re the AWD cannot run away. The aggression, determination, & barbaric fighting style of the pit bull would be unlike any 1 on 1 fight a AWD ever encountered.

Keep in mind AWD run from lions. Fighter pit bulls were sent directly at these types of predators. They were often killed & they often won.

A lot of people in the comments don't know about AWDs. They are savage. They run 45mph, and have a bite force stronger than a leopards. Seriously those dogs are tough. I've seen an injured 1 defend itself from a hyena. They can take a beating. Seriously 1on1 there is nothing a pitbull can do to 1 of these dogs.

If the pit bull use its body strength perhaps the pit bull would win, now i don't think a pit bull would win with a Hyena, they have a bite force of 1100 psi, thats a bone crushing machine but i don't think the Hyena is considered a dog?

The African wild dog would win even tho the pit bull is strong, the Africa wild dog can hunt in large packs and seeing as how they can surround a hyena and bully it they could beat a pitbull not to mention it’s slower compared to the wild dog.

Long legs of the wild dog are a handicap not a plus. The pitbull would simply charge in and grab a leg. Exposing his back-yes, but loose skin and heavy muscle 💪 protect him. Down to 3 legs the wild dog is toast. Pitbull wins 🏆.
