I inherited some loose leaf tea among my mother's things. I suspect that it is actually some tea that she sent me out to buy from a local shop on the last day of a trip to India twenty years ago when we were staying at our grandparents' house, about half an hour before travelling to the airport. Since that was the last day I saw my grandparents (they had both passed on by the time I next visited India in 2011), I can recall the memory clearly, although the tea still seems good now.

Don't use a ceramic cup because it cools down too quickly? I don't think that's a great argument, definitely going to still use my ceramic mugs.

+TalkBeckyTalk In Argentina it is very common to drink tea with a bit of milk. We call it "Té con leche" (tea with milk). Personally, I like to drink tea just as it is, or to add a dash of lemon juice, a few drops of vanilla essence or add a 4-5 dried jasmine petals. You can also add honey, cinnamon sticks, eucalyptus leaves or the seeds, and many more things.

My tip of the day: Try Morrison's breakfast tea, its a black box with yellow at the sides. Its got a great taste. Much better than their normal tea that's in a red box I think. Also twinnings breakfast tea, pg gold is nice and Yorkshire

I use a baby teapot, rinse with boiling water, add tea bag and pour on water really hammering that bag. Allow to sit in a tea cosy for 2 mins. Add dash of milk in a fine bone china cup and pour in the tea. The ultimate tea making method. Thankyou.

"next time you are in the office or YOU'RE IN A RUSH" . 1.boil up - wait one minute 2.pour in mug - leave two minutes 3. add milk - leave it 6 minutes.
Seems like a lot of waiting if you're in a rush, make the "perfect tea" when you got time

TalkBeckyTalk Jamie Oliver I don't drink Tea much myself. I don't want to brag, however - I do know a fair bit of history about Tea & how versatile it is. Tea can also be used as an ingredient to steam something with. Tea can also be used as part of an ingredients list to a short-cut method of making Master-stock & cooked/brewed Tea leaves {loose or from a bag} can be used to flavour things like Scones, muffins & salads. I know Kendaily   **will love this video**. :)

Thanks Becky! I'm a Californian and its summer so my perfect "cuppa" has to be iced tea. Not sure if you drink much iced tea in the UK. I love it! Cheers.

I actually never tried tea with milk :o I'll be sure to try it. Do you warm the milk first or do you just add cold milk?

Protip if you're being mindful of your brewing temp: *Scald* the mug first by pouring in a splash of water before you put in the teabag. Toss this water, put in your teabag, pour in your remaining hot water (make sure you have enough) and *cover* your mug. Scalding the mug first brings it up to temperature, so you don't lose heat when you start brewing. Covering the mug will prevent heat from escaping (much like a teapot) which will keep your tea brewing at its optimum temperature.

Pouring in your hot water to a cold uncovered vessel will lower the water temperature by several degrees, which will affect the tea's flavor extraction.
