1985 Ford Mustang SSP

CHP 8419 saw regular duty chasing drug-runners and speeders along the California/Mexico border, and was based at the California Highway Patrol's El Centro Border Division Office #625, in Imperial County, California.

The car was in service from May 23, 1986 to May 10, 1988, covering 85,414 miles during that time.

Original colors also included white doors (as well as CHP graphics/ID information on the doors and trunk edge). Antennas are similar to the original pieces used. Original spotlights used were a CHP-specific version of the Unity S6, with black housings, white bulbs and lenses on the passenger's side and a steady-burn, ruby-red light on the driver's side. This ruby red spotlight was what you'd see while being pulled over. Additional equipment included police radio, scanner, siren, trunk-mounted shotgun, Grote PAR 46 deck lights in amber, red and blue, as well as other equipment.
