Your problem is, the very first thing the manual warns you about.. if you go down in a dip, the tractor is heavier and stronger than the bush hog and something's got to give. That was one of the first things my dealer warned me about, and it's good advise.. you can't have 2 things, going in opposing angles. The ground isn't going to flex, so your mower does.

The Bush Hog mowers you purchased were never designed to take the extreme abuse you are giving them. You bought the cheapest, lightest model when you should have purchased there much heavier right of way mower. Not only that by using the low hp gear box mower you are, burning excessive fuel, and causing premature Tractor wear. If you would buy the right equipment for the job you will have much better results. FYI Bush Hog makes 5 different Rotary mowers models this size and you bought the lightest cheapest one they make. This post is very misleading and unfair to Bush Hog but I'm sure anyone with any equipment knowledge at all can see the real problem, the buyer.

As a bush hog user of 20 years, I see 2 problems. 1. You are using the lightest model that bush hog makes, attached to a tractor that is armored up like it's going to war. I imagine you are hard on it... so maybe a medium duty, or even heavy duty would be better suited. 2. You are hauling 2 heavy duty ramps that the cutter is not designed to carry. They are not too heavy just sitting there, but bouncing around they are pounding those joints. Just my opinion. Bush Hog makes some great stuff. I have yet to break one and I am pretty hard on them. Better luck in the future!

I have been a welder fabricator all my life and repaired just about everything you basically added two 100 pound weights that it wasn't meant to carry and then the ladders bouncing up and down are acting like hammers beating on it the cracked welds do not surprise me at all

Operator got it in a bind in a ditch. I'm old and have known dudes who could abuse and break a solid block of steel. Can't get

Yep its broke. I think he lowered the three point hitch to low & put the whole weight of the tractor on the bush hog. All of them will break with that much weight on them. Those chain aren't OEM either. I suspect he is a little rough on his equipment.

Ive had my heavy duty cutting 3 inch teresa no problem . You have the light light duty model upgrade to the big boy i have the step up from you no problem

Hey, consider the fact that both mowers are breaking in the same location and only on one side. They’re telling you that they are getting stress at the same location. It may be getting a twisting force, with the back wheel getting raised relative to the three point hitch. This is probably happening as you go over a small gully, probably at an angle. If so, that reinforcement you’ve added could force that flexing stress into your tractor’s PTO shaft instead… better a bent and cracked mower shroud than a bent PTO shaft.

Completely customer error and misuse.
NOT a design flaw, or brand flaw.
But people would rather blame the manufacturer, than take blame for their own incompetence.

Tail wheel does not float as mounted. Fixed tail wheels are not a good design but you can help by putting a bolt in the top hole for your tail wheel mount and then put another bolt in a hole below the tail wheel mount. That will allow your tail wheel to float a little. Tighten snug so that the tail wheel can move up and down a little. This should fix your issue.

What are the ramps for anyway? And why are you carrying them around on top of the machines?

I have a 72" squeeler made by bushhog. I mainly use it for mowing pasture grass and light brush. I don't put it in a bind or go through my creek with it. I would imagine it's a light duty cutter.

I've beating up a Land Pride RCR1872 for over 4 years and it's held up really well. I'm surprised.

What do you expect when you add stuff to a machine that wasn't engineered for it? I have a 2208 that is a much better fit for what you are doing. And even then I'm not going to weld extra stuff on the machine. If you had a warranty you nullified it. Look in the mirror for them blame.

The guy has damn near zero mechanical ability and starts a commercial Bush hogging business then complains that he tears everything all to hell. Just look at the mangled loading ramps. He has videos bitch about the tractors as well. Or maybe he just has bad luck and everything he buys breaks when the same thing lasts at least 20-30 years for everyone else.
It costs money to make money, especially if you are that hard on eqipment. He reminds me of CORB LUND - HARD ON EQUIPMENT song.

Probably cause you left it out in the weather where it can rust and get weak, we’ve had a 2515l bush hog for over 14 years and it looks brand new.
