I can relate to this. I used to work at a daycare. But years before that, I had a nightmare reading buddy. She seemed ungrateful that I was her reading buddy and there was ALWAYS something she complained about during reading buddy time. Usually, it was because I wasn’t reading as loudly as she wanted me to. Once, she even poked me really hard and yelled at me because of it. Her ego was awful. One time, she even tried to make me read the funny looking page at the beginning of the book that literally no one looks at and so she read it and got REALLY angry cuz she was a first grader who read it while I was in fourth grade. Did that little demon ever think I wasn’t giving her what she wanted because she was being really rude and mean to me about it? Anyways, she was literally one of the most toxic people I ever met and the part where the girl demanded you read to her reminded me of that girl. Gosh, it was horrible!
