I repeat outfits cause I like my clothes, and I also enjoy how such a frivolous thing pisses some people off

The reason I care about "oh I'll see different people on these days so I can outfit repeat" is because most people don't know you don't need to wash your clothes after every single wear (as long as you're not like going to the gym and sweating in them, or they didn't get something gross on them), so I'll literally outfit repeat the day after if I'm seeing different people. But that's just so people aren't like "did you wash that?" because no dangit you shouldn't that often. But like you saw this outfit last week? well enjoy it again because it's great lol

i am a proud outfit repeater and no one will ever change my mind about it

I think the fact we consider an “outfit repeater” a bad thing due to social media is ridiculous. I find that a lot of those influencers who have new outfits every post probably wear those clothes everyday, or only are wearing them for a sponsorship.

I recall someone who worked at Vogue who was famous for wearing a different outfit every day. I sort of felt sad for her. How can you have nothing in your wardrobe, especially with that kind of access to fashion, that you love so much that you can’t wait to wear it again?

I literally love being photographed in the same outfit a lot for a while until my next “uniform” comes along. When I see old pics wearing certain outfit I have certain memories associated with them and love that.

As a swedish university student that goes to a lot of dresscoded dinner events, i have one dress for every dress code. This is pretty much what everyone do, and it feels really special when you see everyone in their special clothes. It’s just not realistic for someone with a student loan to buy new expensive clothes all the time, not even mentioning the sustainable aspect.

It feels like outfit repeating i so cronically online and in real life it’s just ridiculas to think like that.

go outfit repeating!! I feel so sad thinking that some of my favorite outfits will fall apart eventually - I love having clothes that i really like and will re-wear repeatedly

I'm not remotely offline but I don't frequent IG and have never had a tiktok so all of this took me by surprise. I had no idea outfit repeating was stigmatized until earlier this year and when I heard the Lizzie McGuire soundbite i was floored, because that means it was a thing the entire time i was young and i just had no idea. I've always been on the idea of uniforms/signature looks. Back in uni people used to tell me they'd seen my coat across campus and loved it. I feel like i have been chasing that high all my life haha

I remind myself that even though I have familiarity (and sometimes boredom) with my clothes, it doesnt mean everyone else does. I still get compliments on a skirt that I've owned for years and wear at least once a week. My coworker who Ive seen 5 days a week for 2 years *just* noticed the cute details on the skirt. It was a reminder that 1) people dont notice much and 2) there is freshness to an outfit even if it feels old to you

i like having a digital closet, I know exactly how many times I've wore a garment, very helpful to check and realize what is my style

the amount of times my coworkers have seen me in the same black trousers and the same black hoodie is definitely in triple digits. but i choose think that the outfits i actually put effort in stand out so much more amongst the boring, monotone every day fits.

i've always repeated outfits.. actually, i had fav ones that i looked forward to wear again! and that mentality fortunatelly sticked w/ me through my childhood right into my early 20s ♡ i can't imagine how stressed those poor people who *care* about shit like that 'cause they've fallen into some trend must feel, trying to remember what they wore??? :"dd yeah, people don't think about you that hard, period. ♡

Do these people never tired of working so hard to keep up with all these clothes? My view is definitely not typical because I wear a literal uniform to work every day, and also I'm doing my best to have a small and sustainable closet, but oh my gosh I recently gained weight and had to purge my closet and that's EXHAUSTING.

i basically wear the same 5 outfits over and over even though i have a huge wardrobe lol. if someone is paying that close attention to me to notice if i’m rewearing an outfit, i’d be a bit weirded out tbh. i never pay attention to that stuff.

I've never understood why outfit repeating was an issue. If I like something enough to spend the money on it, heck yeah, I'm wearing it to death! I think it's more a mental hangup for the people who have an issue with it, they don't feel secure enough to be individualistic. Too busy following the crowd and trends which is sad. And OMG, don't pass out, but I don't always wash something after one wearing either! (***GASP***)

When I was younger, I thought that "no outfit repeating!" was something that only a few very stupid, very shallow rich people believed. I guess it's a little more common now because ultra cheap fast fashion makes it doable for more people? But I still have a hard time believing that a significant amount of normal people feel that way. Maybe it's more of a thing in certain social groups. Not repeating outfits never would have been an option for me even if I did feel the stigma. I didn't have a lot of clothes growing up.

Personally I think repeating an outfit is much more of a flex than never wearing an outfit again. It means you have good enough taste that it's worth wearing again. When someone says "I never wear something more than once" I hear "I'm so bad at picking garments that I never like something enough to re-use it".

as a russian i am new to the concept of outfit repeating — i discovered this is a thing only after following western/english speaking youtubers.
overall i think it’s really stupid to bash a person for wearing their outfit more than once, like if it’s good, why not enjoy repeating it?
also this whole discourse tells a lot about society’s obsession with looks and appearing wealthy (it’s more available to buy multiple cheap pieces nowadays but to some people it can give an impression of a person having money — after all, not everyone can tell apart cheap, low quality materials and pricey, but high quality ones)

honestly I forget people worry about outfit repeating, I rewear my outfits the exact same way the time because once I find a new combination of my clothes that I love then I immediately want to wear it everywhere all the time
